- About The Author

Marcus Burke was born in Hartford, CT USA but raised in Surrey, England where he earned his Ph.D before teaching psychology at Brunel University, London.

Burke published academically before moving back to the United States. He now lives in Orlando FL.

Blue American is his first novel. It was completed on January 27th 2010 - the author’s birthday. On this same day, Catcher in the Rye author J.D. Salinger died.

“It’s an odd co-incidence,” said Burke. “Because although Blue American is not intended to be a sequel to Catcher in the Rye, Catcher has always been an influence in writing this novel. Although separated by more than fifty years, I feel that the books’ protagonists Holden Caulfield and McCarton Wheeler would have much in common were they ever to meet.”
